Goods in transit insurance
We arrange cargo insurance so that your goods are covered against damage and loss throughout the journey.
A carrier's liability is limited by international conventions and often falls short of the real value of the goods. That is why we help you set cover that suits the value, type and route of your cargo, and have the policy in place together with the transport.
Features and cover
- Legal requirement
- It is not compulsory by law. Banks, however, ask for this insurance as security in foreign trade and credit transactions.
Types of cover
- Broad cover
- Covers all physical loss and damage that occurs during transport, except for the exclusions in the policy.
- Restricted cover
- Usually covers only damage to the goods caused by an accident of the vehicle carrying them, such as fire, overturning or collision.
- Total loss
- Covers the complete loss of the vehicle carrying the goods and of the whole cargo, or damage to them beyond recovery.

- A policy consistent with the transport and customs documents
- Paperwork and follow-up in case of a claim

Frequently asked questions
Why do I need cargo insurance?
A carrier's liability is limited to a set amount by international conventions and often does not cover the value of the goods. Cargo insurance covers the goods for their own value.
How is the premium set?
The insurer sets the premium based on the value, type and packaging of the goods, the transport mode and the route. Just share these details when you ask for a quote.
What should I do if my cargo is damaged?
Record the damage in writing on delivery and tell us straight away. We help you prepare the documents and handle the correspondence with the insurer.
