WHY BMK
Why work with us?

End-to-end management from one point of contact
Manage the whole process through a single point of contact, from pickup at origin to delivery to the consignee and completed customs clearance.
36 years of experience
We know every step of transport, warehousing and customs. That is how we prevent disruptions and lost time in transit before they arise.
HOW WE WORK
Strong agent network and secure delivery
Together with partners around the world and an extensive agent network, we track your cargo transparently at every stage.
Cost and time advantage
We run customs and transport as one integrated operation. This eliminates the extra demurrage, storage and waiting costs caused by poor communication between the two.
Quick responses
We aim to answer questions and requests from customers and partners quickly. In international trade, a slow reply can hold up a shipment.
Problem-solving
When the cargo, the route or the delivery date changes, we rework the arrangements to match. If something goes wrong, our priority is to keep your cargo moving.
HOW IT WORKS
Four steps from loading to delivery
An international shipment generally goes through the steps below. The details vary with the transport mode and the delivery terms.
Loading and export customs
The cargo is collected from the shipper's premises or a warehouse and loaded for transport. Export customs formalities are completed in the country of origin.
Transport
The cargo travels to the destination country by road, sea, air or a combination of these. The mode is chosen to suit the type of cargo, its volume and the delivery date.
Import customs
Import customs formalities are carried out in the destination country. Once clearance is complete, the cargo is ready for delivery.
Delivery
The cargo is taken to the consignee's address or the agreed delivery point. Delivery completes the shipment.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between FTL and LTL?
FTL (full truckload) means the whole vehicle is reserved for one shipper's cargo. LTL (less-than-truckload) means cargo that does not fill a vehicle travels on the same vehicle as other shippers' cargo. Which one fits usually depends on the volume and weight of the cargo and on the delivery date.
What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL (full container load) means a whole container is reserved for one shipper's cargo. LCL (less than container load) means cargo that does not fill a container is consolidated with other shipments in a shared container. LCL cargo is consolidated at origin and deconsolidated at destination.
What is freight forwarding?
Freight forwarding is the organisation, on behalf of the cargo owner, of the transport and related services needed to move cargo from shipper to consignee. A forwarder selects the mode and the carrier, books space, prepares the transport documents and coordinates steps such as customs clearance and storage. Forwarders usually work with carriers rather than operating the vehicles themselves.
What does door-to-door mean?
Door-to-door means the cargo is collected from the shipper's premises and carried to the consignee's premises under a single arrangement. Besides the main leg, it covers pre-carriage at origin and final delivery at destination. Which party handles customs formalities and costs depends on the delivery terms (Incoterms) agreed in the sales contract.
Which transport mode suits which cargo?
As a general rule, air freight is chosen for time-critical or high-value, low-volume shipments. Sea freight usually has the advantage on unit cost for large volumes with flexible delivery dates. Road freight gives door-to-door flexibility between regions connected overland. The right mode depends on the type of cargo, its volume, the delivery date and the route.
What information is needed to prepare a quote?
The essentials are the origin and destination, the type of goods, their weight, volume or dimensions, and how they are packed. The delivery terms (Incoterms), the date the cargo will be ready and any special requirements, such as dangerous goods or temperature control, make the quote more precise.
